Babbacombe Bay 20th January 2001

This was weekend one of the PADI Rescue Divers course for Pete, Andy and Paul. However, Alec had such good fun on his, he joined in as well to buddy up with Andy.

After spending three hours in the classroom at the 'Divers Down' shop, it was time to descend to the beach. We were joined by Jim and Jo who were assisting Roy. Unfortunately, I had to lend out my suit as John had a faulty cuff-dump. I kept warm though !!

It was hilarious watching a different group go through a full BWRAF buddy-check in an 'emergency' kit up scenario. I think Pete and John managed 17 Minutes !!

The nightlife consisted of mainly beer and a bit of dancing up at the Coach House. Andy and Alec had disappeared into Torquay but had arranged to meet up later. We were joined by Jason and Janice from Feet First Scuba. We completely forgot about food and just grabbed a quick kebab on the way back to James' flat over the shop. Eventually crashed at 02:00.

Sunday morning came too quickly. Took a stroll down to the beach with Roy. The sea was brown..... lovely ..... no water exercises today then.

I said my goodbyes and went back home as I didn't want another classroom session. I think the remainder of the course is set for the 27th/28th but, with the flu, I don't think I'll be there somehow. Good Luck guys !!
