Avon Valley Railway

Running along a mile or so of track, this was a Father's Day treat for Dave...

Despite leaving the wine at home ("The End of the World style terminal sin !!"), Cari Jake and I watch with amusement as Ali gets stuck behind a Banana lorry !!

A very windy and cold day to begin with as Ali's hair bears evidence to !

Bitten Station. Let's face it !, the trains run more on time here than Great Western.

Ali shows relief as replacement wine arrives back from the off-licence.

Anne and Cari brave the ferocious winds until one of them weakens and runs to the car !!....

...two minutes later......

Anne and Cari compare frostbite wounds!

Dave arrives back from the booking office with some sort of book that his cold fingers have difficulty in navigating.

The train arrives at last, Jake asks whether he can pull a funny face ! Dave joins in and together re-enact a closing scene from 'Police Squad'!

Ali surveys the menu while Anne has spotted a cobweb on the underside of the Window!

"Look !", says Anne, "I've been taking lessons off Jake !"

Ali reacts with the "Reaction to Andy in the Morning" pose !!

The train pulls on into the countryside...

..... and then stops ! (Jurassic park scenes with the goat, spring to mind!)

Anne is so sophisticated, drinking her wine from a spoon !

Unlike Jake and Dave, who have managed to down almost a bottle in 20 minutes !

Food !! Very nice and excellent service !

...Especially this lady here who had to put up with the camera following her around all the time !

Back at the far end of the line for the 3rd time !

Anne waits for coffee while Ali eyes up the waiter

One reason why you shouldn't lean out of the window on trains!

We were stuck for 25 minutes in a hot afternoon.... let's stretch the legs / have a ciggy !

Poke the camera through an open window and this is what you get... the kitchen !

The coal-guzzling dinosaur that was pulling the train. More romantic, I guess, but hundred-times more pollution per breath than a B&H ?!!

Meanwhile, Dave has to put up with another of Cari's jokes !

Ali laughs at the waiter's joke, even though he was as funny as Peter Shilton on the half-way line !

Dave flouts every law in the book everyone !! (A bit like me when there's a decent scene to flash at !)

Anne asks Cari what time the Buffet opens !
